West Bend Platinum Edition Six Slice Convection Toaster Oven {Giveaway}

West-Bend

Giveaway Closed. The randomly chosen winner is Cindy B. Thank you all for playing along, and stay tuned for more fun giveaways!

So, you have your big oven, and it’s great and all that. Sometimes though, you just don’t really need to heat up the whole oven for a small cooking job, or your oven is already full. You need to bake that side dish or dessert at a different temperature and there’s just no room in the oven. Think Thanksgiving or Christmas! You need to bake the pies, but the oven will be roasting turkey all day--at least it seems like all day. For these times, wouldn’t it be nice to have some extra oven space? Of course it would! I have just the toaster oven for you.

West Bend is currently celebrating 100 years in the business of bringing quality appliances into our kitchens. I grew up with West Bend! My mom and my grandmother always had stuff from them in their kitchens. And I never heard any complaints from them--everything from West Bend was a trusted name back then, and it still is today. One hundred years! Keep up with new and exciting news from West Bend by Liking their Facebook page--you’ll never miss an update!

West Bend has graciously given me a Platinum Edition Six Slice Convection Toaster Oven to experiment with, and even better--one to give to one of you!

I’m telling you, you’ll love it. You might think “Why do I need a toaster oven? I already have an oven and a microwave.” That may be true, but it’s wonderful for those smaller jobs, and uses much less energy than your full size oven--and doesn’t turn your kitchen itself into an oven on those hot days. Can your microwave do a decent job on much else than frozen dinners, reheating, and popcorn? No, it can’t. We all know how unappealing reheated pizza is when warmed up in the microwave. The bread in a sandwich goes from tender to something like rubber in a microwave. Sad. Sad food.

What can you do in this toaster oven?

  • Bake quick breads, cakes, cookies, scones, muffins, etc.
  • Need toasted nuts? Why heat up the entire oven? Use the toaster oven!
  • Make nice melty, gooey sandwiches with the broiler.
  • Bake a 12 inch pizza!
  • Need to toast odd shaped breads like pita, naan, or other flatbreads? Forget the regular toaster--they won’t fit in there! They fit perfectly in the toaster oven.
  • Reheating foods is a snap with this oven, as is cooking frozen dinners. Don’t heat up the large oven to cook a small frozen entrée!
  • You can cook pretty much anything you’d make in your full size oven, as long as the pan fits, and this toaster oven has a surprising amount of room in it.
  • Crafts! My friend Kathy reminded me that it would  be great for crafts that need baking, and it's silly to heat up an entire oven for a small project, isn't it?

Here are the features of the Platinum Edition Six Slice Convection Toaster Oven:

  • Platinum Edition Countertop Ovens feature seek design lines and stainless steel accents.
  • Cook a 12 inch frozen pizza in less time than it takes to preheat a standard oven.
  • Automatic Convection fan circulates air to promote even cooking.
  • Large interior can hold a 12" pizza, 6 slices of bread, casseroles, and other baked goods.
  • Wire rack is reversible and has multiple level options to fit many sized pans.
  • Cook settings include Convection Bake, Broil, and Toast.
  • Temperature settings are Warm, 250 (degrees), 300, 350, 425, and Max Toast.
  • 60 minute timer with automatic shut-off.
  • Includes adjustable wire rack, broiler pan, and handle for removing pans from the oven.
  • 1380 watts
  • External measurements: 17 1/2” across, 10 1/2” high, and 13 3/4” deep.

Just a couple of the things I’ve made in the Platinum Edition Six Slice Convection Toaster Oven so far:

    Banana Blueberry Muffins:

(Can you see behind the muffin pan in the oven? The back of the oven is rounded, and that’s how it’s possible to fit a 12 inch pizza in there. This also gives you more room for larger items!)Muffins Baking in West Bend Convection Toaster Oven

    Banana Berry Biscoff Muffins

Spinach, Feta and Sundried Tomato Pizza:

I find myself using it all the time. I’m sure you will, too! I’ll be posting a couple more recipes that I’ve made in the Platinum Edition Six Slice Convection Toaster Oven over the next couple of weeks.

I also picked up this set of pans from Chicago Metallic. I actually found it at TJ Maxx, so you may want to check out your local store, or you can order some from West Bend. Amazon has some different ones, as well.
